Hi, I'm Daphne, the founder of LUMBAYA.
In 2023, I was at a crossroads: a recent Accountancy graduate, but lacking passion for the field. I decided to change course and pursue my dream: entrepreneurship. To create something beautiful, make a difference for others, and truly make a difference.
When a good friend became a mother and we gave her a baby carrier, it all clicked. Why weren't there baby carriers that were both comfortable and stylish, yet affordable? There had to be a better way. The first designs were developed, the samples arrived, and together with my mother, I sat at the sewing machine, perfecting everything. We packed every package we sent with care and love. What started as a small idea quickly grew into a brand with its own office, a small team, and now customers all over Europe.
The name LUMBAYA represents everything we believe in. Inspired by the yin-yang symbol and incorporated into our logo, the name exudes warmth, balance, and connection for us. It symbolizes the harmony we strive for: between parent and child, between style and comfort, between functionality and affordability.
With LUMBAYA, we want to support parents through the most beautiful, yet sometimes also the most challenging, phase of life. Because parenthood is wonderful, but also intense. Our products are designed as a touch of affordable luxury: high-quality materials, timeless designs, and always with an eye for comfort and ease of use.
For us, LUMBAYA is much more than just a brand. It's our dream come true, and our way of giving back.
